This trip is sponsored by BP-Castrol but for us it's partly sponsored cos we bought an extra ticket...I went there wif my dad n sis.
Day 1 (10/03/09)
Flew from Penang International Airport to KLIA. Apparently, dat flight go delayed for more than an hour n it's already night time. So, the shops r all closed n we ended up waiting like dungus.
At bout 11 we finally reached KLIA. Fortunately, we r on time for our connecting flight. Had extremely late supper wif tourmates sponsored by company. Met our Malaysian tour guide too. Her name is Mandy. She's nice, bubbly n a bit thick-faced..lol!
Day 2 (11/03/09)
Board da plane to Beijing. This time it's punctual. Very tired from da flight cos it's a 6-hour flight. Reached Beijing bout almost 7 in da morn. From da moment we stepped out from da plane, it's freakin cold! Bout 9 degree Celcius! So, eveybody changed clothings after collecting their luggage. For me, it's add-on!3 layers to be specific... n layers of lotions n lip balm...After dat we r introduced to our Beijing tour guide, Louise.
Our 1st destination is a restaurant for breakfast. We had a typical Chinese breakfast...pei tan chok, yau char kuai, xiao long pau, popiah, n many many more...Then, we proceed to the Forbidden City. It's SUPER huge n SUPER wide n hv wonderful views too...According to Louise, it consists of more than 8000 rooms! Cool rite...just imagine how many concubines n children da emperor hv...pardon me if da details I gave is kinda brief cos I oni understand a bit of Mandarin.
Outside The Forbidden City
After da visit, we walked to Tiananmen Square. Just a wide field n a few monuments there. Later, we went for lunch at a local restaurant. Since we r tired n never got da chance to sleep, our tour guides arranged for us to check in da hotel after lunch so dat we can rest. We stayed at Joy City Hotel (stayed b4 by many famous celebs including Amber Chia)
Duck-based dishes....There's duck's legs, duck's heart n many many more! This is just da appetizer....
Outside of da roast duck restaurant
Day 3 (12/03/09)
Early in da morning, we had our breakfast at the hotel's restaurant. They hv western breakfast like cereals, sausages, bacon n fried omelette & traditional breakfast oso like porridge. Then, we head to the Great Wall of China Juyongguan Gate. It's an hour journey from da hotel. Since da Great Wall is up on a hill, we had to wear more clothings due to da strong wind n cold weather. Now, it's 4 layers+gloves! Anyway, we hiked till da place i marked in da pic n then come back down.
After climbing da Great Wall, which has steep steps n a big gradient, we had ice creams! N da best part is .....it doesn't melt! Cool rite? I can take all da time I want to finish it. In Msia, it's impossible to do dat.
Then, we had our lunch at a super huge restaurant wif a lot of customers but we always had our lunches n dinners in a private room. Some of the rooms even hv a TV or PA system. Later, we proceed to da Bird's Nest Stadium n da National Aquatics Center(Watercube) where da 2008 Olympics was held. They r very huge buildings even though it looks small from far. Sadly, there's sandstorm for dat few days according to Louise. He said if we wiped our face later, da tissue will be black n yellowish...so, we had to bear wif da wind..
Dat particular day had been tiring for us cos we climbed up da Great Wall n hv to walk quite a distance to visit da stadium. So, da company arranged an hour long of traditional foot reflexology. This is where we got our feet pampered n massaged. To me, this is da 1st time I'm getting a massage. According to their custom, a customer hv to be massaged by a masagger of da opposite sex, which means I'm being massaged by a man! Unfortunately, I dunno how to speak Mandarin fluently, so my massager just kept quiet while my sister's massager is babbling away..
Then, we had our dinner n dat's it 4 da day. Some of us went karaoke but I prefer to sleep cos they'll oni be back bout 3 -4 in da morn!
Day4 (13/03/09)
Day4 (13/03/09)
We started our day by visiting da summer palace but it's more like da winter palace to me. This is cos it's da coldest day ever! 0 degree celcius! Freezing! Can u believe Summer Palace is bout 4 times wider than Forbidden City?!
After lunch, we went shopping at Ya Xiu Market. It is a market for bargaining. For me, bargaining is equal to wasting time! Some China ppl give a very expensive initial price. Then, we will hv to bargain till it's bout 70% less...n we oni hv bout 2 hours to shop.
The restaurant where we had lunch. Wahaha Hotel...funny name
At bout 7, we watched a Kung Fu performance show at The Red Theatre. The play was titled 'The Legend of Kung Fu'. At 1st da play was interesting but towards da end it got boring...I think some even fell asleep. There's a lot of spectators though...full house...mostly tourists like us too.
Day 5 (14/03/09)
Went to da Temple of Heaven after breakfast. The Temple of Heaven is a very popular park for exercising especially senior ppl.
After lunch, went for a trishaw ride at Hutong.
After lunch, SHOPPING!again.....this time it's bigger n better. We shoped along Wang Fu Jing Street. Unlike yst's shopping, we need not hv to bargain this time cos everything is at fixed price.
Our last dinner was very fun. N da best part is ice cream! Da 'boss' sunli decided to treat us since dat was our last dinner at Beijing. Later, while waiting for da bus, da tour guide called us to gather under a tree cos he wanted to say something. Then we joked dat da situaton is like 'da meeting under a tree' at Perak...
Day 6 (15/03/09)
The last day at Beijing! We get to wake up late cos most of da tourmates went karaoke again last nite. Then we had lunch at a restaurant where da waitresses wear traditional costumes. Da food was delicious though.

After our lunch, we proceeded to da airport. During da journey, our tour guides said a few words n da uncles took some videos...funny ones i might add but unfortunately i dun hv them...Our flight from Beijing to KLIA is at 4.30. So we hv to wait again...We had some snacks b4 boarding da plane sponsored by da company again...I watched 'The Day The Earth Stood Still' while in da plane...not as nice as I expect it to be.
We reached KLIA around 10+. We bid goodbye to Mandy n other KL ppl...Then, we waited again for our flight to Penang . Reached Penang past midnite. Stayed at my sister's apt b4 goin back Tpg.
