Project Eggy Race:D

This is my 1st ever Physics group project.
My partner is a girl from Shah Alam.
Anyway, we had to build a vehicle for a raw egg and the vehicle must carry the egg across a horizontal distance without breaking the egg.
We had to launch it using only a rubber band. 'A' rubber band, not 'TWO'.
So, we had to build a catapult also.
We built a simple catapult consisted of a rubberband, a doughnut stick and binding tapes.
From the picture, you all can see that we used a disc for the base, mounted it with steel balls from a ball bearing, paper clip for the hook n plastic and foams to protect the egg.
This model of our vehicle is actually the fourth model after our first 3 models failed.
We actually broke an egg with this model.
2 days ago, we launched it during our Physics lab session.
We had 2 chances to launch it as far as possible and we got 6.28m as the furthest reading.
The highest displacement my lab group got is around 9m like that.
Currently, the record in Monash was 15m from the previous semester.
Everybody aimed for that distance but to no avail....sad to say....
BUT we duo girls managed to beat a few of the all-guy groups.
Some of them even broke their eggs.
After the launching, we must present our model to the whole class explaining the physics principle applied.
That's it for the project! Now we had to work on our 2nd project which involves eggs also but we did not had the briefing yet. So, we had only less than 2 weeks to work on it.
Wish me luck!^^
